MACUATA ended its Vodafone Vanua Championship season with a slight victory over Naitasiri 19-17 at the All Saints Secondary School ground at Vulovi, Labasa, this evening.

The host side scored three tries out of which two were converted and one unconverted.

Naitasiri touched down two successful converted tries and a penalty kick in the second half.

Despite the loss, Naitaisiri coach Sakeasi Mokalou was proud of his boys.

“Some decisions made by the boys led to the two points less than Macuata and I believe if they made better decisions on the field, they could have achieved better,” Mokalou said.

Macuata coach Digitaki Levaci thanked his team for a good game.

“The season was a success because there was not a huge margin between points in games we lost out on,” Levaci said.

“But I believe Macuata can do better by next season so we are planning on off-season programs.”
