THE United States Coast Guard Cutter Munro is in the country for a few days.

The vessel arrived this morning and is berthed at the Kings Wharf in Suva.

Munro Commanding Officer Captain Jim Estramonte said their mission was to help with the abundance of natural resources like fisheries in the Pacific Ocean.

“The Pacific Ocean is home to the widest population of fisheries, if gone unregulated, people with ill-intent will take advantage of this,” Captain Estramonte said.

He added the vessel with about 150 personnel on-board was expected to depart on Monday.
