Flying Fijians lock Api Ratuniyarawa is ready to join his London Irish club next season. Ratuniyarawa is part of the Vodafone Flying Fijians team participating at the Pacific Nations Cup 2022.

He came off the bench during the Vern Cotter-coached side’s 36-0 thrashing of the Ikale Tahi Tonga at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on Saturday.

He played for the Northampton Saints and will join Declan Kidney’s squad when preparations begin for the 2022/23 season, irishpost.com reported.

He played in 130 appearances for the Saints in his six seasons from 2016 and went on to reach the Premiership semi-finals and win a Premiership Rugby Cup for Northampton.

He was awarded Saints’ Breakthrough Player of the Season in 2017/18 season.

“London Irish is a fantastic club, and I am aware that I am joining at a significant time in the team’s journey,” he said.

“I am really excited about taking this next step in my rugby career, and having played in Brentford already this year, I now can’t wait to pull on the green jersey and play in front of the London Irish fans.”

Ratuniyarawa made his international debut at Twickenham against England in 2012. He had been to the 2015 and 2019 Rugby World Cups.
