ENERGY Fiji Limited says because of critical repair works to powerlines from EFL’s Vuda Zone Substation to Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki, some parts of the Western Division will experience disruptions on Sunday.
In a statement issued this afternoon, EFL said the planned power outage would affect EFL customers in Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki.
It said power would also be affected in the greater parts of Lautoka – part of Vuda Back Road, part of Wairabetia, Saru MGM School, Navula Road, Saru Church, Saru WAF Pumping Station and Treatment Plant, part of Natabua Road, Saru Back Road, part of Tavakubu, Tavakubu Village, Vunamoli Settlement, Tawatawa, WAF Booster Pump, Vaivai, part of Saru, part of Natabua, Natabua Old Peoples Home, Ramzan Road and Natabua Prison Quarters.
The EFL said they had had to isolated power lines for safety reasons to ensure their teams could work safely on the 33,000 Volt line.
Works are planned to be carried out on Sunday, given the low electricity demand on this day, and will also result in minimising disruption to commercial and industrial customers.
EFL said all emergency queries should be directed to 132 and 333 and 913 for emergencies only.
