Flying Fijians break drought with win against Maori All Blacks

THE Fiji Airways Flying Fijians have made a winning start to the Pacific Test Series defeating the Maori All Blacks 27-10 at Suva’s ANZ Stadium this afternoon.

Fiji led 12-nil at the break with tries to Alivererti Veitokani and Viliame Mata.

Waisea Nayacalevu added two tries for Fiji in the second spell, while Sean Wainiu grabbed a brace of tries for the Maori All Blacks.

Debutant Filipe Naikosi stood out on the wing while centre Levani Botia had a grand game as well.

This is the first time, the Flying Fijians have defeated the Maori All Blacks in 62 years.

The return match will be held next Saturday in Rotorua, New Zealand.
