THE BLK Nadroga rugby team has injected five national 7s squad members into their training squad preparing to face Namosi in the second Farebrother Sullivan trophy/Skipper Cup double header tomorrow at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

Nadroga head coach Esala Nauga confirmed the five players were part of this week’s preparation and he’s likely to make some adjustments to his line-up.

“We have Peceli Nacebe, Rusiate Nasove, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Isoa Tabu and Kavekini Tabu who have joined us in training and we are looking forward to naming a good line-up against Namosi,” said Nauga.

Members of the Fiji 7s team training squad have been released from camp following the cancellation of the Dubai and Cape Town 7s tournaments that was scheduled at the end of the year.

Trophy holders Nadroga will want to make use of their training squad throughout the season as they still have to go through another 13 rounds of competition this season.

Outgoing Nadroga president Tiko Matawalu said this was a chance for the 7s players to learn and execute their knowledge of 7s and 15s especially aiming for an overseas contract.

“It’s a good opportunity for them as we accommodate them to build up their skills for a 15s career and their knowledge of rugby.

Nadroga will make some reshuffles in their line-up against Namosi as veteran fullback Apisalome Waqatabu and outside centre Ifereimi Tovilevu suffered injuries that will rule them out this weekend.

In other games of round two of the 2020 Skipper Cup Tailevu travel down to face Lautoka at Churchill Park, Nadi will meet Naitasiri at Ratu Cakobau Park and Yasawa to play Suva at the ANZ Stadium at 3pm.
