THE fight against cancer is not any one person’s business but everyone needs to get behind it.

This was the sentiment shared by Mr Leigh Smart who organized the WOWS Kids (Fiji) Christmas Party at Suva’s Holiday Inn yesterday.

An emotional Mr Smart shared how important it is for him and his family to fight against this deadly disease.

“Fiji lost three cancer patients last month. That’s a huge number. It is something that no one calls on themselves but we all need to get behind them,” Mr Smart said.

He thanked all those who made today possible.

“Oh yeah. There are some companies who came on board. We have Westpac, TTF which provided a bus and also the other stakeholders.”

Around 70 cancer patients from Suva and Lautoka, with their parents, were present at the function where they took part in numerous activities.

Activities included face painting, cupcakes decoration, nail polishing and the highlight of the day was a helicopter ride for patients around the Suva bay.

The patients were also given presents which included Nova tablets and other prizes.
