THE new direct flight from Fiji to Vancouver has been described as a nice, easy flight and brilliant way of promoting Fiji to the world.

This was how Stacey Mullinger, owner and operator of a travel agent in Christchurch, New Zealand, House of Travel revealed of the newest direct route for Fiji Airways.

“I think its opening up a destination for Fiji and Canadians, and for people coming from New Zealand and Australia, having being able to combine their beach holiday and the warmth and heat of Fiji with a destination like Canada that offers so much in sports and the complete contrast of Fiji in terms of climate,” Ms Mullinger said.

“I think it’s just a nice easy flight, really easy to get to Fiji and then you’re on an 11 hour flight to Vancouver.

“And everything is on your doorstep, so I think its brilliant,” she said.

Ms Mullinger said it provided a good family combination in the sense that you go skiing for a week and stopover in Fiji for holiday on the way home to NZ.

“Come up here in the summer for hiking and biking and just lie by the pool for a few days; I’ve got a young family and we like to be adventurous on our holiday but then we just really love to have some down time and this really gives you the best of both worlds cause Canada doesn’t really give you the lie by the pool experience very often, so we need Fiji for that.”

Ms Mullinger was part of a few other travel agents from NZ and Australia who were part of the inaugural flight.
