Extra Supermarket opened its first branch in Lautoka in August 2017 and a second outlet at Flagstaff, Suva in November 2018.
Tomorrow the supermarket opens its third branch at the Challenge Plaza in Laucala Beach.
Managing director Kavishay Abhimannu said their entire team had worked very hard to ensure everything was ready for the opening of Extra Laucala Beach tomorrow.
Mr Abhimannu said the second lockdown which was essential to control the spread of COVID-19 did have an impact on the work for opening the new supermarket.
“It held up progress and delayed the opening of the supermarket by a few months. The original budget was around $6 million and we have managed to stay around that cost,” he said.
The new Extra Laucala Beach has a bakery designed to produce a range of true Artisan bread, and extended deli offering a range of hot fresh pies, fresh sandwiches, salads and barista-style coffee and a large walk-in liquor store with a great selection of imported and local spirits, wines and beers.
“We continue to work with leading local and international brands to provide you with a curated range of products so that you experience the power of choice. A thoughtfully laid out store with air-conditioning and wide aisles so that you and your family can avail world-class shopping right here in Fiji and adequate car parking.” Mr Abhimannu said their focus had been on their customers with the best possible shopping experience.
“Our customers are the chief drivers of our growth. We have grown by listening to their needs, demands and feedback and acting on them. We promise that at Extra Supermarket, we will continue to listen to our customers and work hard to meet their needs.”
