Sharing problems part of mental health: Rogers

SHARING problems are part of mental health care.
Fiji Alliance for Mental Health advocacy program manager Lionel Roger told 100 youths at the Northern Youth conference this morning that talking about issues and concerns relieved stress.
Citing an example, Mr Rogers said if a person carried a filled 500ml Fiji Water bottle in the arm for a while, they would tire off.
“This is a good example of how stress works in a person, no matter how small the bottle or the stress, the body will finally feel the stress of the worry they carry about at some point,” he said.
Mr Rogers said punching walls or things to cool down stress was a form of attempted suicide.
